Health Tips: How To Easily Cure Mouth Odour – Bad breath, also called halitosis, can be embarrassing and most people suffering from it do likely have low self-esteem, chronic anxiety when conversing with people. People with bad breath often avoid and distance themselves from people due to low self-esteem caused by their health condition. Bad breath is something you should never pray for your love ones to have.
There is a medical solution for bad breath. Most people suffering from it likely conclude that there is no known medical cure for bad breath after trying out different ways of getting rid of it like using products designed to fight bad breath such as, gum, mints, mouthwashes and other products. But the good news is that there are certain things that works effectively.
Certain foods, health conditions and habits are among the causes of bad breath. In many cases, you can improve bad breath with consistent proper dental hygiene.
What Can I Do to Prevent Bad Breath?
You can easily get rid of bad breath by:
(1) Practicing good oral hygiene. You need to brush twice or thrice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. Always brush your teeth after you eat, even after eating your lunch in work your place, don’t fail to go with your toothbrush and toothpaste. Don’t forget to brush the tongue, too.
(2) Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. Most people are fond of using the same toothbrush for 2-5 years without making a change. Using old toothbrush might be one of the reasons you are having such bad health condition.
(3) Use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. Rinse with an antibacterial mouthwash twice a day. This is very necessary.
(4) See your dentist regularly — at least twice a year. They will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor.
(5) Drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist.
(6) Chewing gum (preferably sugarless) or sucking on candy (preferably sugarless) also stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria. Gums and mints containing xylitol are best.
(7) Keep a log of the foods you eat. If you think they may be causing bad breath, bring the log to your dentist to review. Similarly, make a list of the medications you take. Some drugs may play a role in creating mouth odors.
If simple self-care techniques don’t solve the problem, see your dentist or physician to be sure a more serious condition isn’t causing your bad breath.
